Welcome to Auntie's Attic. Here I design and make dolls and animals inspired by antique toys, and memories of treasured teddies and animals from my childhood. I stitch all my dolls and animals on an old 1920's Singer treadle machine. Each of my creations is made from new, cotton fabrics and stuffed with modern, safety standard toy stuffing. To achieve a 'vintage', careworn look I hand-dye each doll with strong coffee, bake it in the oven, then gently sand it. Because my dolls are hand-crafted, they naturally have subtle variations. Each doll is unique, and hopefully something that will be loved and treasured in the future. Dolls from Auntie's attic are intended as collectors items and are not suitable for children.
